Carlo
Marrale musician, photograper, and painter has been one of the founders and
members of the successful pop Italian band Matia Bazar. Since the band was
born in 1975, is started collecting an incredible series of hits in the
Italian charts and worldwide successes mainly composed by Carlo himself. Songs
like STASERA CHE SERA(1975), PER UN’ORA D’AMORE, SOLO TU (1978, which
entered the Spanish charts at No.1 in the 70s), CHE MALE FA (1976) , CAVALLO
BIANCO (1977), C’E’TUTTO UN MONDO INTORNO (1979), TI SENTO (1985) all
written by him, have also been included in movie soundtracks. Matia Bazar have
played in: Spain, United Kingdom, Swiss, Belgium, Germany, Bulgarian,
Czechoslovakia, Russia, Poland, Malta, Morocco, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan,
Holland, Sweden, Chile, Japan, Canada and took part to many festivals,
including Vina Del Mar Festival (1978), Eurofestival (MOONSHINE, 1979) and the
Sanremo Festival (where they appeared 7 times and where they won twice). Their
live appearances all around the world (Europe, Middle-East, Japan, Russia,
Latin-America…) have always been a real triumph and their albums have been
released in many languages. The song which brings a worldwide fame to the
group is VACANZE ROMANE (ROMAN HOLIDAYS, 1983). Many artists performed songs
written by Carlo Marrale. Among them Miguel Bose' (QUE NO HAI, 1987), Irene
Cara (who sung I NEED YOU, english version of TI SENTO) also included in Back
To Mine by PET SHOP BOYS and Mina (CHE MALE FA and SE POI,1992). Marrale’s
charm can be spotted also in his lounge driven works. His track INDIAN CAFE'
(2002) has been included in Carla Sozzani -the most famous Milanese design and
photograpy gallery- compilation “Yin-Yang”, which features artists like
Talving Singh, John Coltrane and Feel Good Production. Marrale recently
composed the pop /opera song ODISSEA(2003), that will be included in the
forthcoming album by two of the most acclaimed tenors of the international
scene Salvatore Licitra and Marcelo Alvarez on Sony Classical. produced by
Steve Wood, The album will be released June 2003 in the US (end of May in
Italy and September in the rest of the world). The two tenors will also
celebrate the release of the album with an open-air spectacular concert in
front of the magnificent Colosseum in Rome and in Central Park of New York
Marrale has such a passion in composing and such a tast for indelible melodies,
that is why his songs have an impressing international appeal. THE NEW ALBUM
"CARLO MARRALE MELODY MAKER" will be on sale in November 2007.
